Making an illustration that synthesizes the content of an entire anthology of poems is not an easy task. Even more so when it is by one of your favorite writers. Hence the proposal of Penguin Random House – to make the cover for Roger Wolfe’s “La poesía es un revólver apuntando al corazón”, as part of the Verso & Cuento collection – was quite a challenge.

The final selected illustration attempted to represent two opposing concepts that are nevertheless related:
The Shot of Grace and the State of Grace, complementing the headline “Poetry is a revolver pointed at the heart”.
Space and color were used to go through the word “revolver”.
